Patio season is here, and the month of June is just around the corner! Whether you’re looking for some free city-wide street festivals to check out, peruse a night market, or catch a game, we’re here to provide a glimpse into some of the best events the month has to offer. Here are some of the very best things to do in and around Vancouver this June.

Italian Day on the Drive is Vancouver’s largest cultural street festival, transforming all 14 blocks of Commercial Drive into a lively celebration with fresh gelato and cannolis, patio sips, and plenty of pizza and pasta to go around!

When: Sunday, June 8, 2025
Where: Commercial Drive
Cost: Free admission

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on June 14 and 15, 2025, the Japan Market Summer Fest is hosting its largest event of the year at the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza, with over 80 vendors offering Japanese-style food, crafts, and art. There will also be cultural workshops and live entertainment to check out at the market.

When: Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2025
Where: 750 Hornby St.
Cost: $4 minimum donation

Sunwave hosts electronic, techno, and house nights at outdoor and indoor locations across the city, and each open-air event offers party-goers a little something different.

Here’s their upcoming schedule for June and summer 2025:

  • Sunwave 2025 (open-air) – Mount Pleasant, Vancouver at Platform9 – Saturday, June 14, 2025
  • Sunwave 2025 (open-air) – East Van, Vancouver at Strange Fellows – Saturday, June 21, 2025
  • Sunwave 2025 (open-air) – UBC, Vancouver at Koerner’s Secret Garden – Saturday, July 5, 2025
  • Sunwave 2025 (open-air) – Pool Party at Lions Bay – Saturday, July 19, 2025

Kick off summer with the 40th anniversary of the Vancouver International Jazz Fest, which runs from June 20 to July 1, 2025. Spanning 187 performances (including 50 free shows), the festival will open with a free Downtown Jazz concert series outside of the Vancouver Art Gallery and šxwƛ̓ ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square.

The festival will also feature happy hour concerts from 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays at Bentall Centre, and a free series from noon to sundown on Canada Day at Ocean Artworks on Granville Island.

When: June 20 to July 1, 2025
Where: Locations vary — from Downtown to Granville Island and the North Shore
Cost: Free, pay what you can, and ticketed events

Inspired by global pedestrian-first movements like Paris Respire, Gastown Sunday Set is a new car-free series set to transform the cobblestone streets of Gastown. For 12 consecutive Sundays this summer, starting in June, there will be a variety of open-air parties, concerts, and live events.

When: Sundays from June 15 to Aug. 31, 2025
Where: Water Street in Gastown
Cost: Free admission

Hosted by the Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC (HCCBC), the 51st Annual Greek Day on Broadway will span multiple blocks throughout Kitsilano in the heart of Greektown.

Taking place between MacDonald Street, Blenheim Street, and West Broadway from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever, with authentic Greek food, live music, and traditional performances lined up.

When: Sunday, June 22, 2025
Where: West Broadway between MacDonald St. and Blenheim St.
Cost: Free admission

Canada’s first and only all-vegan market is hosting two beachside night markets this month, both of which will bring dozens of plant-based food vendors and local artisans to Locarno Beach.

When: Thursday, June 5 and June 19, 2025
Where: Locarno Beach
Cost: $4 minimum donation

The beloved Richmond Night Market is in its 25th year, complete with hundreds of international street food booths, local retail vendors, and a first-of-its-kind zipline.

When: Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays this June
Where: 8351 River Rd., Richmond
Cost: $7 for GA

Cheer on the Vancouver Canadians at the Nat all month long as they face off against the Hillsboro Hops, Spokane Indians, and the Tri-City Dust Devils.

When: Games throughout June

Vancouver’s self-guided Ice Cream Fest is back this summer with over 30 participating ice cream spots across Metro Vancouver, from BETA5 to Bella Gelateria. So if you’re looking to beat the heat and want to try a new spot, this is a great opportunity to do both.

When: June 20 to Aug. 4, 2025
Where: Over 30 participating locations in Metro Vancouver
Cost: Free admission

The beloved Shipyards Night Market is back every Friday until September, providing the perfect opportunity to hit some patios or breweries after work, enjoy some live music, and snag some food truck eats at Shipbuilders Square.

When: Every Friday until September 12, 2025
Where: The Shipyards, North Vancouver
Cost: Free admission

The Vancouver Art Gallery offers free admission to the public on the first Friday of every month, from 4 to 8 p.m. The next free Friday night will be on June 6, 2025 — so mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy some new exhibits.
