While the sunshine has clearly been hiding from us all week, it looks like warmer weather is finally on the way for Calgary this weekend. And the timing couldn’t have worked out better, because the city has a packed weekend ahead. So if you’re tired of being cooped up inside all week, take a look at this list and make some plans because there is plenty happening around Calgary to keep you busy.

Here’s a look at 15 of the best things happening in and around Calgary this weekend.

Carifest is turning 45, so you know they’re not keeping the celebrations small. The three-day festival of Caribbean culture kicks off with an after-work party on Friday before the Carifest Parade takes over Stephen Avenue on Saturday. After the parade, head over to Cowboys Park for Carnival in the Park with live performances and family-friendly activities before the weekend wraps up with a reggae concert on Sunday.

When: Friday, Aug. 14, to Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026
Time: Time varies based on the event
Where: Cowboys Park – 1220 9th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free

Prince’s Island Park is about to get a whole lot more lively as Western Canada’s largest Latin Festival returns for three days of music, dance and culture. The festival will feature performances from international and local artists, cultural pavilions highlight communities across Latin America, plus dance workshops and visual art displays.

When: Friday, Aug. 14 to Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026
Time: Friday and Saturday: noon to 1 a.m.; Sunday: noon to 9 p.m.
Where: Prince’s Island Park – 698 Eau Claire Ave. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $35 per day 

Tactical Days is bringing military vehicles, equipment and hands-on experiences to the Military Museums for two days. You’ll be able to check out military displays up close, watch demonstrations, and meet members of the Canadian Armed Forces and first responders. There will also be tank tours, a Kids’ Zone, and an obstacle course, so there’s plenty to explore once you’re there.

When: Saturday, Aug. 15 to Sunday, Aug, 16, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Military Museums – 4520 Crowchild Trl. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Adults and Seniors: $17, Youth: $7, Children under 3: Free

The King Eddy is celebrating 120 years of music with Eddy Fest, a festival that pays tribute to the venue’s long musical history. Expect a lineup that moves through rock, blues, and country, with different sounds taking over the stage throughout the weekend.

When: Friday, Aug. 14 to Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026
Time: Friday: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday: 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: King Eddy – 438 9th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $19

Ready to see some golf legends in action? The Rogers Charity Classic is back at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, where Mike Weir, Ernie Els, and Vijay Singh are competing for US $2.5 million. And while there’s plenty of competition on the course, the tournament also gives back, having raised more than $164 million for youth-focused charities each year.

When: Monday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026
Time: Gates open at 9 a.m.

Spend your evening exploring the Inglewood Night Market, where hundreds of vendors will be setting up shop throughout the neighbourhood. You’ll be able to browse everything from vintage clothing and one-of-a-kind pieces to local treats and other goodies.
