Growing up in the ’90s was an experience you just had to be there for. Cartoons were at their peak, Blockbuster was king, and our wildest dream was to someday end up as a cast member on All That! We were obsessed with Britney Spears and ‘N Sync, and MTV was at the top of its game.
Sadly, most of those things are no more, and for us kids of the ’90s, that means we’re left with nothing but feelings of nostalgia for an era lost to time. But as much as there’s so much we miss about the ’90s, the one thing we’ll always wish we could have back is Pizza Hut in its prime.

Pizza Hut, during the late ’80s and ’90s, was magical. It was a red-roofed, checkered palace that served arguably the best pizza you could find outside an authentic Italian restaurant. It was a vibe, and honestly, no one else has been able to capture the same aesthetic since.
Although we might not be able to revisit Pizza Hut in its glory days, we can always reminisce about what was, and, lucky for you, we have photographic evidence of what the chain looked like in its heyday. Read on to see 15 photos of Pizza Hut in the ’90s that’ll open up a brain file you thought was closed for good.

Pizza Head is kind of a deep cut, but IYKYK. This hilarious character was first introduced in the early ’90s with a slate of commercials that you can find on YouTube.

The iconic Pizza Hut red roof became the brand’s identifier that you could spot from miles away. Even without seeing the sign, you knew that pizza was right around the corner. Today, there are only a handful of locations that still have the old school aesthetic, but if you can find them, it’s like stepping into a time machine.

This menu from 1996 is a far cry from the glossy, digitized menus we’re used to seeing today. On the bright side, price-wise, Pizza Hut prices haven’t changed all that much, save for a few dollars here and there. You’ve got to love a great value!
7. When Pizza Hut Invented Stuffed Crust and Everyone (Yes, You) Ate It Backwards
If the internet had been around, Pizza Hut’s invention of stuffed-crust pizza would’ve broken it. Fun fact: the brand announced the game-changing invention with the help of Donald Trump and made a cheeky reference to his divorce at the same time. You can watch the full ad on YouTube.

No Pizza Hut dine-in experience was complete without these iconic red cups, and yes, one or two managed to find their way home with us.
