Now, it’s no secret Montreal is known for a few things including poutine, bagels, festivals and of course a top tier terrasse scene but turns out we’ve taken on a new accolade.
A new study ranking the most beautiful universities in the world dropped and two Montreal schools managed to make the cut.
Immerse Education, a U.K.-based company that provides enriching programs at various global institutions, released its list of the Most Photogenic Universities in the World, and a slew of Canadian schools appeared on the esteemed ranking.

To compile the list, Immerse Education analyzed a seed list of the top universities around the world and ranked them based on the number of Instagram and TikTok posts for each to reveal which ones are the most picturesque.
So, which Montreal universities made it?
McGill University not only managed to appear on the ranking, but it landed in the top five of the most beautiful schools in Canada. According to Immerse Education, the campus, with its captivating blend of historic and modern architecture set against the backdrop of Mount Royal, has garnered over 121,000 hashtag posts across Instagram and TikTok.

Trailing behind McGill was none other than Montreal’s Concordia University, which ranked eighth most beautiful in Canada. “Renowned for its harmonious blend of historic and contemporary architecture, the campus boasts a total of 111,132 hashtag posts across TikTok and Instagram,” Immerse Education said.
