High tea is perfect for a cutesy, fun afternoon with friends or family, and Edmonton is home to some great spots doing the experience justice.

High tea or afternoon tea, according to Old Beverly Cafe, is a British tradition involving a spread of small bites to eat and, of course, tea. This cherished ritual can be the highlight of the day, with the delicious and scrumptious treats only being beaten by the company of loved ones. It’s a great time for all, and especially great for special occasions or that person in your life you’re looking to treat.

We’ve rounded up some of the best high tea and afternoon tea ceremonies in Edmonton that will impress both you and your friends.

On select Sundays this summer and fall, the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald is serving up a special high tea experience for $99 per person. This price includes a variety of classic tea ceremony fare like tea sandwiches, desserts, fresh scones, as well as a tour of the hotel’s honeybee hives.
