63 islands await within a spectacular national park in Ontario

23 May 20252 Mins Read

If you’re up for a major summer adventure, I have the perfect spot. Georgian Bay Islands National Park is only accessible by boat, but this gorgeous place is well worth the trip. Located just over two hours by car from Toronto (to the launch zone), the park boasts over 60 islands you can check out. Pretty cool, right?

No boat to get there? No problem. Reservations can be made to take the Daytripper, a boat that takes passengers from Honey Harbour to the park.

There’s also the option to book a water taxi, with seven options in the area:

  • Georgian Bay Islands Water Taxi
  • Georgian Coastal Water Taxi
  • Honey Harbour Boat Club
  • Harbour Water Taxi
  • Island Express
  • North Western Private Tours

Beausoleil Island is the most popular of the islands, and once there, you can rent bikes to make navigating the island easier. “Ride from Cedar Spring to the start of the Massasauga or Rockview trail and continue exploring from there on foot,” shares the national park.

Want to stay awhile? There are 103 campsites and 10 rustic cabins on Beausoleil Island; 45 sites, six rustic cabins, and five oTENTiks are available on Cedar Spring Campground (must make a reservation).

This national park charges admission: $6.50 per adult, $5.50 per senior, and free for children.

Open now for the season, this is a park you’re going to want to add to your summer bucket list. Don’t forget to snap some photos of the blue waters and dreamy islands.
