Administrative Assistant

Salary: $62,637 to $77,715

Company: City of Toronto — Transportation Services, Operations Maintenance

Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have customer service skills along with organizational and time management skills.

Also, you must have:

  • experience in administrative support duties, including standard office practices and procedures
  • experience using computer software like Microsoft Office related to organizing, formatting, editing, and analyzing content
  • experience working with and preparing confidential materials/information for management

The closing date is February 21, 2025.

Who Should Apply: You need a secondary school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training in environmental compliance and enforcement.

Also, you must have:

  • experience or equivalent post-secondary educational training in environmental law and case law related to the interpretation and application of environmental by-laws
  • experience or equivalent post-secondary educational training in conducting inspections, taking detailed notes, investigations and appropriate enforcement action to obtain and ensure compliance
  • experience or equivalent educational courses in interpreting wastewater and water analytical data and understanding industrial processes that generate wastewater
  • experience dealing with the public in dispute management or conflict resolution situations
  • valid Ontario G driver’s license
  • ability to get a City Equipment Operator’s License and meet all conditions in the City of Toronto’s Drivers Manual

Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have a university degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Also, you must be registered as a Professional Engineer in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario.

It’s required that you have:

  • experience applying transportation engineering concepts and Complete Streets principles and designs related to all aspects of transportation like road safety, accessibility, connectivity, maintenance, and sustainability
  • experience applying active transportation engineering principles and transportation equity goals related to urban sustainable traffic, roads, road safety, trees, and streetscapes
  • knowledge of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, Ontario Traffic Manual, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for the Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other related legislation
