Outdoor pools in Toronto will officially see extended hours this week as a brutal heat wave pushes temperatures to over 40°C with the humidex.
While all 55 of the city’s outdoor pools are currently open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., eight locations will stay open until 11:45 p.m. for late-night swims with Toronto under an orange heat warning.
The outdoor pools in Toronto with extended hours are:
- Alex Duff Pool (779 Crawford St.)
- Giovanni Caboto Pool (1367 St. Clair Ave. W.)
- Heron Park Pool (292 Manse Rd.)
- McGregor Park Pool (2231 Lawrence Ave. E.)
- Monarch Park Pool (115 Felstead Ave.)
- North Toronto Memorial (200 Eglinton Ave.)
- Smithfield Park Pool (175 Mount Olive Dr.)
- Sunnyside Gus Ryder Pool (1755 Lake Shore Blvd. W.)
The City of Toronto is also reminding residents that its splash pads operate daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., while 84 wading pools are open on varying schedules.
For those looking to cool off along the waterfront, Toronto’s 10 supervised swimming beaches are open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
