Debbie Gibson has a surprise in store for fans, and she can’t resist teasing everyone with what she’s been working on. What we know for sure is that she’s working under a tight deadline and that it’s not her next album.

Gibson shared a video of herself on Instagram. In it, the sound was turned off to keep whatever she’s up to a secret. She wore big, white headphones and held a silver microphone as she spun in a circle, showing off the room around her as well as the laptop she was using to record.

In the caption, she wrote, “Sound OFF !!! 🔇 And what are you doing tonite ?!? 😉 Hint : This is not my next full length pop album I’m working on… it’s a special project 🎵 Any guesses ?!? 🕵️‍♀️”

In the comments section, a fan asked the “Foolish Beat” singer what she was up to and she quickly wrote back, “Yoooou’ll see ! Been working for a while ! And the deadline is coming up sooooon to get it in for a certain reason 😉”

Even more fans weighed in with their guesses, which ranged from some believing she’s doing a movie or a soundtrack to possibly even a singing competition series. Though she never confirmed what the actual project is, Gibson did post again, this time saying, “Oooh somebody here in the comments is onto it …!!!”

Whatever the project is, the Debheads will definitely be excited when Gibson finally shares what she’s been working on. Though it seems like she never really stops, the “Electric Youth” singer most recently attended the “I’m Still Standing” fundraiser in Las Vegas. She also worked alongside Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler to help find homes for the beagles rescued from Ridglan Farms.

Gibson’s extensive work in dog rescue and her love of animals has not gone unnoticed. The pop singer was honored this year at the Bubbles Dog Rescue Gala 2026, where she was named the Rescue Star of the Year.
