March is finally here, and with it comes a much-needed breath of fresh air for Netflix’s movie library. After a somewhat sluggish start to the year, the streaming giant is ramping things up with a stellar lineup of heavy-hitting Original features and an incredibly strong roster of licensed titles. Whether you’re in the mood for explosive sci-fi action, gripping historical dramas, or award-winning international thrillers, this month’s additions guarantee you won’t be aimlessly scrolling for something to watch.
As always, we’re going to split this article into two sections: first, we’ll cover the most-anticipated and biggest new Netflix Original movies. In these instances, I personally haven’t yet seen them, so I am basing the recommendation purely on what has been seen/heard so far. Then we’ll move on to the licensed titles.
For the full list of new movies and new series dropping throughout March, keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix.
Most Anticipated Netflix Original Movies for March 2026
War Machine (2026)
Coming to Netflix: March 6th
Since mid-January, Netflix’s movie slate, as expected this time of the year, has been incredibly light. Joe’s College Road Trip was literally the only English-language movie of note throughout the entirety of February, and even that, we suspect, was not everyone’s cup of tea. Thankfully, March is a little louder in the new movie department, even if not quite to the same standards as you’d expect in the backhalf of the year.
War Machine is no doubt the biggest movie from the Original library coming up, and for most, it’s lead star Alan Ritchson, who has rocketed to fame thanks to leading roles in titles like Reacher, fronting this sci-fi action movie. The synopsis reads, “The final recruits of an Army Ranger selection course face a deadly force from another world.”
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (2026)
Coming to Netflix: March 20th (Also available theatrically)
Can you believe it’s now been four years since the BBC/Netflix series Peaky Blinders came to its stunning conclusion? Well, it has, but thankfully, there’s more from the world and Steven Knight to come, beginning with a movie at the end of March, which is around the same time the first of two new seasons gets into production. With many returning favorites and some new faces amongst the mix, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is set during WWII, following Tommy Shelby, who is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet.
Do you need to watch the main series before diving in here? Yes, to be frank. While you might be able to just about get away with watching this fresh, having the backstory is, honestly, vital, and the good news is that you’ve got a few weeks to catch up on all seasons before this drops.
Best Licensed Movies Coming to Netflix in March 2026
Nuremberg (2025)
Coming to Netflix: March 7th
Kicking off our licensed recommendations is Nuremberg, the gripping historical drama that dives deep into the post-WWII trials of Nazi officials. Boasting a powerhouse cast featuring Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, and Michael Shannon, the film offers a tense, meticulously crafted look at one of the most pivotal moments in 20th-century history. If you’re a history buff or just appreciate top-tier, dialogue-driven acting, this compelling courtroom drama is an absolute must-watch.
Nobody 2 (2025)
Coming to Netflix: March 7th
Bob Odenkirk is back, and he’s bringing the pain. Following up on the smash-hit success of the 2021 action thriller, Nobody 2 delivers exactly what fans have been clamoring for: more visceral, bone-crunching, John Wick-style action. Hutch Mansell’s seemingly quiet life is violently upended once again, dragging him back into the lethal underworld he tried so desperately to leave behind. With slick choreography and Odenkirk’s undeniable everyman charm, this high-octane sequel is the perfect weekend adrenaline rush.
The Creator (2023)
Coming to Netflix: March 20th
Not included in Netflix’s main list for the month is the latest movie drop from 20th Century Studios, which continues to license one or two movies to Netflix around the world every single month. Next month’s release is an absolute sci-fi treat with The Creator touching down nearly three years after it hit theaters.
Starring John David Washington, the Gareth Edwards world is set another 25-odd years into the future, with humanity having agreed to get rid of artificial intelligence for the sake of humanity, well, the Western world anyway. That divide creates a divide and war with one agent sent to assassinate a new AI they’ve detected on the ground.
While an absolute visual treat, I had a hard time remembering the actual plot of the movie beyond the saving of a young boy, which perhaps says something about the story, but even so, it’s definitely worth a visit or revisit.
BlackBerry (2023)
Coming to Netflix: March 15th
There are a couple of tech biopics coming up in March, with Jobs set to return, documenting the life of Apple founder Steve Jobs with Ashton Kutcher, but since it’s been streamed on the service before, we won’t give it another recommendation here. Instead, we’re turning to Blackberry, the 2023 film from director Matt Johnson, with the story adapted from Losing the Signal: The Untold Story Behind the Extraordinary Rise and Spectacular Fall of BlackBerry by Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff.
The chances are many of you won’t be familiar with BlackBerry devices, but for a time, they were the hottest commodity. This biopic comedy-drama seeks to retrace how that mobile device with the full keyboard came to be, with an eccentric cast of characters behind it. With sharp dialogue and wit for days, it’s an incredibly entertaining watch, particularly if you’re a fan of this genre.
Netflix is simply going to carry the movie here, not the extended mini-series that dropped on AMC.
Anatomy of a Fall (2023)
Coming to Netflix: March 23rd
If you missed this Oscar-winning masterpiece during its theatrical run, now is the perfect time to catch up. Anatomy of a Fall is a brilliantly crafted, razor-sharp French courtroom thriller that revolves around a woman (played impeccably by Sandra Hüller) accused of murdering her husband after he suffers a fatal fall at their secluded snowy chalet. It’s a masterful dissection of a marriage that blurs the lines of truth and perception, and the brilliant screenplay will keep you guessing right up until the final frame.
Hotel Mumbai (2018)
Coming to Netflix: March 2nd
For Dev Patel fans, you’re getting two of arguably the best movies from his back catalog on Netflix US this month. Not only have you gotten the 2021 A24 movie The Green Knight which he co-starred alongside Alicia Vikander, but you’re also getting the intense and harrowing Hotel Mumbai. Based on the terrifying true events of the 2008 Taj Mahal Palace Hotel terrorist attacks in India, the film is a masterclass in tension. Patel stars as a brave hotel employee who risks everything to keep his guests safe amidst the chaos. It’s a tough, emotionally draining watch, but a profoundly moving tribute to human resilience.
A Man Called Ove (2015)
Coming to Netflix: March 6th
Before Tom Hanks brought the character to American audiences in A Man Called Otto, there was the Oscar-nominated Swedish original, A Man Called Ove. Based on the beloved novel, this dark comedy-drama follows a grumpy, strict, and isolated retiree whose perfectly ordered world is turned upside down when a boisterous young family moves in next door. It’s a beautifully poignant, laugh-out-loud funny, and ultimately heart-warming tale about grief, unexpected community, and finding a new lease on life. Have your tissues ready.
