In 2007, TIME Magazine crafted its list of the 100 best TV shows of all time, compiling a tally stacked with television’s most memorable series in history. On it, Garry Shandling and Dennis Klein’s hit 1992 series The Larry Sanders Show was placed alongside other classics like Marta Kauffman and David Crane’s 1994 show Friends and Amy Sherman-Palladino’s 2000 show Gilmore Girls.
The Larry Sanders Show premiered on HBO on August 15, 1992. Upon its release, it was clear that the show was something special. Despite not receiving major mainstream recognition at the time of its premiere, it grew to become a critically acclaimed masterpiece down the line.

Throughout its six-season run, The Larry Sanders Show earned several notable accolades. Some of these included three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, five CableACE Awards, four American Comedy Awards, two British Comedy Awards, a Satellite Award and a BAFTA Award.
The satirical sitcom starred Garry Shandling as Larry Sanders, the host of a fictional late-night talk show named after him. The series captured the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the cast and crew as they worked to create the weekly episodes.
