Toronto’s annual electronic music festival is making a comeback this winter, flooding one of the city’s most popular waterfront venues with the sweet beats of some of the hottest DJs around.
Occurring annually between Christmas and New Years (historically it’s taken place on Boxing Day) at Rebel nightclub, Solaris Festival has cemented itself as one of the city’s preemninent EDM festivals.
Smaller but no less vibrant than summertime contemporaries like VELD and Electric Island, the festival has hosted legends in the genre such as John Summit, Zedd, Deadmau5 and Steve Aoki over the years, drawing scores of ravers to Polson Street to revel in the club’s souped-up sound system and lazer displays.
This year, you’ll be able to catch sets from headliners Gryffin and Dabin, who’ll be supported by Toronto-based talent like DeeCee, Quim and Paper Skies keeping the beats bumpin’ into the wee hours on both nights of the festival.
Solaris 2024 will take place on Friday, Dec. 27 and Saturday the 28 this year, with doors opening at 10 p.m. each night. Unlike many of the city’s other EDM events and music festivals, Solaris is a 19-plus event.
