IHG Hotels to Launch Holiday Inn Resort in Dharamshala – Image Credit IHG Hotels & Resorts
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a management agreement with Aaraki Hotels & Resorts to establish a Holiday Inn Resort in Dharamshala, India. The hotel is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2027, adding 150 rooms to IHG’s expanding regional presence.
The Holiday Inn Resort Dharamshala, situated in the scenic Himalayan town known for its beautiful landscapes and spiritual significance, is expected to attract domestic and international tourists. Dharamshala is home to the Dalai Lama and a renowned cricket stadium and is one of India’s 100 Smart Cities, indicating its potential for sustainable and citizen-friendly growth.
The new hotel will feature standard and suite accommodations, three dining options, a pool, a fitness center, retail stores, and a resort center. It will also include meeting spaces and a grand ballroom for social gatherings and MICE opportunities. The hotel aims to provide a multi-functional hub with modern designs where guests can work, eat, or relax seamlessly.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “We are excited to collaborate with Aaraki Hotels & Resorts to introduce the iconic Holiday Inn brand to Dharamshala.” Jain added that the new hotel will provide guests with timeless appeal and modern innovations.
Meanwhile, Manish Kakkar, Managing Partner of Aaraki Hotels & Resorts, expressed delight in partnering with IHG Hotels & Resorts. Kakkar is confident that the new hotel will set a new standard for regional hospitality.
IHG currently operates 45 hotels across five brands in India and plans to open an additional 50 hotels in the next three to five years.
