Fans are calling Jenna Bush Hager a girl’s girl after she didn’t hold back while talking about the unspoken rules about female friendship.
A viewer reached out to Bush Hager and Today co-host Hoda Kotb to ask them how she should approach a prickly situation involving a friend, and the Texas native was very clear on her view.

Bush Hager read the viewer’s message aloud, which said “my friend Kristy invited me to a Broadway show just two months ago. She just texted me to say she’d now love to go with a guy she’s seeing. Kristy said it’s totally my call since she asked me first.”

At that point, Kotb cut in to call Kristy “so passive aggressive,” and Bush Hager agreed, speaking directly to Kristy and saying “you already asked her. You don’t disinvite her. This is girl code, man!”
“Yeah!” exclaimed Kotb as Bush Hager looked directly into the camera with a disbelieving look on her face. “For a boy?!” she asked. “Even if you had the biggest crush in the world, meet up with him later and get an espresso martini.”
“Yeah, we’ll meet for drinks later,” Kotb said, nodding her head. “Plus, he doesn’t even want to go to the Broadway show,” she continued.
“No! Men look at their watches the whole time,” said Bush Hager as Kotb noted “he’d be bored.”
The morning show posted a clip of the interaction on Instagram on Nov. 22 and fans quickly chimed in with their takes in the comments.
“It is always nice to have a life outside of the relationship so you can have something to talk about. If he wants to go to a show, make plans for a different one,” said one commenter.
Another shared that something similar happened to them, commenting, “I’m so glad you said this I had this same thing happen to me after I bought tickets.”
“The ways she says, ‘For a boy?!?!’ Love her 👏,” said one fan about Bush Hager, while another agreed, writing, “He only wants to meet up later! I love Jenna’s girl code and being a yes girl! She was surely brought up right!”
