In my experience, far more people want to be writers than actually want to write. The same could be said of art, music or really any vaguely creative field out there. Why? Because creativity is hard, that’s why. And sometimes, our creative kids and teens can throw up their hands in frustration before they really discover the joy of creating.
And it’s in that space that artificial intelligence, of all things, can step up and keep that process going. Or, if used incorrectly, it can simply take over.
Bret Eckelberry is in the midst of a blog series exploring the potential pros and cons of AI when it comes to inspiring—or stifling—your kids’ creativity. We’ll sit down with Bret, along with our compatriot Emily Tsiao, and talk about how AI can help jumpstart your kids’ artistic instincts, how it can hurt, and some pragmatic steps that parents can take to guide the process.
And then Emily and I will turn our attention to one of the biggest movies of the year: Disney’s Moana 2 is out in theaters as of, well, today. She’s seen the movie, written the review and can tell us whether Moana 2 floats or sinks.
So hop on our little conversational raft, why don’t you? And if you would, send us your own thoughts. What do you think about using AI to write songs or pen poems or even make movies? Are you planning to see Moana 2? Let us know by leaving us a message on The Plugged In Show homepage. Comment on Facebook, Instagram or underneath this very blog. Or write us an email at [email protected].
And join us next week when we tell you just how much content creators might be influencing this year’s Christmas shopping list.
