Image isn’t everything, guys, but studying in a particularly beautiful place can definitely enhance your uni experience – what better way to take a deep breath and have a break from all that reading than by going for an aesthetically pleasing campus stroll?
There are some gorgeous campuses all over the world, but Prix Versailles, a prestigious architecture and design award, has named six that it deems as particularly impressive.
According to the website, the awards highlight institutions which are ‘beautifying and improving the living environment’, and the first of these is Wenzhou-Kean University, an institution in China which was established in 2014.
The design of this place is pretty impressive – sleek, ultra-modern buildings overlook a landscaped garden area with pretty views of mountains in the background.
The University of Edinburgh was also included, an establishment that’s been around a fair bit longer – since 1583, in fact. Edinburgh is UNESCO-listed for its architectural splendour, and the university’s campus buildings feature a mixture of neo-classical, Georgian and Gothic architecture.
Four other universities made the list – have a look at those below, and check out the world’s most beautiful airports, another category published by Prix Versailles.
These are the world’s most beautiful campuses, according to Prix Versailles
- Wenzhou-Kean University, China
- Paris-Saclay University, France
- University of Edinburgh, Scotland
- Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
- John Hopkins University, USA
