Placemakr, a multifamily property operator that blends hospitality and residential services, has introduced its first property in Pittsburgh. The location offers short-term, hospitality-style stays and residential leases under the names Placemakr Downtown Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvanian respectively. Placemakr will start operating The Pennsylvanian immediately, while hospitality stays will be available from Q2 2025.
The property boasts over 240 units, a mix of furnished and unfurnished options, including studios and one and two-bedroom apartments. The Pennsylvanian, a historic building known for its beaux-art architecture and as the former Pennsylvania Railroad Station, also houses a popular wedding venue, The Grand Hall, now managed by Placemakr.
Jason Fudin, CEO and Co-founder of Placemakr, expressed excitement at joining Pittsburgh, a city that ticks many boxes for the company, including work, leisure, and entertainment opportunities.
Located in Pittsburgh’s bustling downtown district, Placemakr Downtown Pittsburgh is near the Convention Center, The Terminal, Market Square, PPG Paints Arena and more. As the city’s economy grows due to the expanding tech and healthcare sectors, demand for flexible living solutions is increasing. The property is connected to Amtrak, making it suitable for visitors from out of town.
Chris Deppoliti, Managing Director at Acram, highlighted the value Placemakr’s innovative approach adds to the Pittsburgh market and the iconic property.
