The Well is adding another addition to its roster of stores and businesses, and this one is set to make history as the world’s highest-capacity Lagree method studio.
Sweat and Tonic is launching REFORMD, a facility specializing in Lagree method workout classes, the studio shared with blogTO.
Just last year, Sweat and Tonic announced a new Toronto location in Yorkville, and now, REFORMD is slated to open on The Well’s terrace level in the spring of 2025, the same level Sweat and Tonic’s other studio at The Well resides.
Opening its first spot in 2019, Sweat and Tonic is now Toronto’s leading boutique fitness and wellness hub, offering a collection of group fitness classes in Canada, including full-service amenities and classes ranging from yoga, Pilates, HIIT and indoor cycling.
“We have the privilege of welcoming over 3,000 guests in attendance per day, in 475 classes weekly across our two locations and Tonic Spa, and we’re so grateful for the overwhelming support since opening our second location at The Well,” says David Ingram, Founder of Sweat and Tonic.
“REFORMD is the next exciting step in our mission to bring the best of boutique fitness and wellness to the community. Not only are we adding the Lagree Method – one of the best strength-building workouts in the world – to our offerings, we’re pushing the boundaries and elevating the guest experience above and beyond what you’ll find anywhere else in this city.”
According to Sweat and Tonic, “Lagree is not Pilates, and the Megaformer is not a reformer.” The Lagree Method is in its own category of workouts, made up of five components of physical fitness – endurance, cardiovascular fitness, body composition, flexibility, and strength.
“Lagree Fitness has always pushed the limits of the fitness industry,” says Sebastien Lagree, inventor and Founder of Lagree Fitness.
“With over 180 patents and 600 Lagree Method studios worldwide, evolution and innovation have always driven my vision for the brand. Knowing that Sweat and Tonic, a bold brand with innovation and technology at their forefront, is bringing the largest-capacity Lagree Studio in the world and continuing to raise the bar for the fitness and wellness industry in Toronto and beyond, is very energizing.”
The new studio will span a whopping 6,000 square feet with 30 Mega Pro Megaformer machines and “immersive custom-programmed chromotherapy lighting and AV, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and an elevated instructor Megaformer platform.
Fitness enthusiasts can also take advantage of a welcome lounge, an education room with two Megaformer machines, a grab-and-go fridge and Tonic Bar ordering kiosks and private change rooms and showers. Heated flooring will span throughout the changerooms and Megaformer studio, too.
REFORMD joins the lineup of other Toronto Lagree studios, such as Studio Lagree, LAGREE Plus, and Lagree Leaside.
Sweat and Tonic, along with REFORMD, are both located at 486 Front St W.
