Jurgen Ammerstorfer – Image Credit Minor Hotels
The Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel, located on Ringstrasse, has appointed Jurgen Ammerstorfer as its new General Manager, effective 7 January 2025. Ammerstorfer will oversee the completion of the hotel’s extensive renovations, which will include revamping the restaurant and bar and introducing an Anantara Spa.
Ammerstorfer, originally from Austria, transfers from The Ritz Carlton, Vienna, where he held the position of General Manager from 2020 to 2024.
Ammerstorfer brings over 30 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry, with a strong background in destination marketing and hotel management. His experience spans various sectors, including food and beverage, rooms, sales and marketing, and revenue management.
Throughout his career, Ammerstorfer has worked for various international luxury hospitality companies in resort settings and urban environments across Europe, the US, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. He has been associated with renowned companies such as Leading Hotels of the World, IHG, Park Plaza, Preferred Hotels, Hilton, Celebrity Cruises, Shangri-La and Marriott Luxury Brands.
Ammerstorfer expressed his excitement about joining the team at Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel, especially as Vienna is set to welcome record visitors for the 200th birthday celebrations of Johann Strauss II.
Giles Selves, Senior Vice President of Luxury Hotels, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, welcomed Ammerstorfer to the team and expressed confidence in his capabilities, citing his extensive knowledge and experience in Vienna and internationally.
Ammerstorfer is a graduate of the “Modul” Hotel Management School in Vienna and holds an MBA from Robert Kennedy College in Zurich, Switzerland.
