Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025
The Invictus Games are a series of multi-sport events supporting the recovery of wounded, injured, and sick military veterans from across the world, and this year marks the first-ever Winter Invictus Games. The opening ceremony will take place at BC Place starting this weekend, featuring performances by Christ Martin of Coldplay, Noah Kahan, Katy Perry, and Nelly Furtado.

Speaking of live sports, the Vancouver Giants are facing off against the Portland Winterhawks and Everett Silvertips this weekend at the Arena Bowl at the Langley Events Centre.

Lunar New Year at the Museum of Surrey
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, The Museum of Surrey is celebrating the Lunar New Year alongside the Chinese Village Club, where museum go-ers can check out live dragon dances and learn how to perform the traditional dance themselves, as well as learn about the rich history of Lunar New Year in the Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures.

Vancouver Etsy Co. — Too Cute Pop-Up Market
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, Vancouver Etsy Co is bringing back a pop-up market to Heritage Hall on Main with plenty of local makers and vendors to peruse. This time, the themed market is called “Too Cute,” with only the cutest locally-made art, stationary, jewelry, plushies, and clothing, with half of the proceeds going to select charities across Vancouver.
