Invincible is back to save the world, one bloody butt-kicking at the time. Season 3 of the highly anticipated adult animated superhero series Invincible returned today, dropping its first three episodes. The hit series sees the return of the 17-year-old half-human-half-Viltrumite hero Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) with a new round of foes and coming-of-age issues to face. Based on the Robert Kirkman comic book series of the same name, the prime video series is already knocking fans out with its onslaught of gory violence and intense family drama.
Like the first two seasons, Season 3 will be eight episodes long and feature voice work from some of Hollywood’s best. The superhero saga is a part of the recent boom of adult animated shows like Hazbin Hotel and Harley Quinn and the trend seems in no danger of slowing down anytime soon.

Mark’s personal life was also put to the test as he entered college, before ultimately dropping out. Additionally, he and his longtime girlfriend Amber (Zazie Beetz) broke up. In the finale, “I Thought You Were Stronger,” he and Angstrom Levy had an ultimate showdown. With the threat of his family on the line, Mark let his rage loose on Levy and, for the first time ever, took the life of a villain. Over Levy’s lifeless body, he Mark said, “I thought you were stronger,” in response to himself wishing not to be like his dad, breaking his non-homicidal morals.

Mark’s little half-brother Oliver (Christian Convery) has grown into a 10-year-old boy (his race ages fast) and wants to become a hero named kid-Omniman. Meanwhile in space, on a Viltrumite villain spaceship, Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) tries to convince Nolan to help them in their uprising against the Viltrumites. Also Mark gets a suit upgrade.
