The iconic Veranda House in Nantucket is scheduled to reopen on April 1, 2025, following a meticulous rebuild after a devastating fire in 2022.
The Veranda House, a renowned property on Nantucket Island, is slated to reopen its doors on April 1, 2025, after a comprehensive restoration following a severe fire in 2022 that necessitated the building’s complete demolition.
The reconstruction, managed by Procaccianti Companies and TPG Hotels & Resorts, was carried out in cooperation with the town and historic district commission to retain the property’s original charm and character.
The refurbished Veranda House has been meticulously rebuilt from the foundation up, featuring enhanced amenities, ADA-compliant features, and state-of-the-art life safety and information technology systems. It faithfully recreates the property’s historic roots by maintaining its size, scale, and signature architectural elements.
“This reopening is a major milestone for Veranda House and the entire Nantucket community. We are deeply grateful for the continuous support from the community in resurrecting this iconic property,” stated Paul Hitselberger, EVP of Operations for TPG Hotels & Resorts.
The revamped property boasts 19 rooms, including the luxurious Grand Harborview King, spa-like en-suite baths, Carrera marble, custom fixtures, and updated walk-in showers. The Veranda House, named for its intricate wraparound verandas, has been an iconic part of old Nantucket town since 1684.
