Dylan Dreyer Shares Fiery PSA After After Airport Experience Gone Wrong: 'Do Better'

22 February 20252 Mins Read

Dylan Dreyer was not pleased with her latest airport experience.

The meteorologist and Today show personality recently sat down at an airport restaurant to eat dinner with her family, only to find out that the menu’s “gluten free” options weren’t actually safe for her child with celiac disease.

Chronicling the experience via Instagram on Friday, Feb. 21, Dreyer, 43, shared a photo of the restaurant’s menu that listed “gluten free crust” as a possible substitute for the pizza offerings—however, the gluten-free pizzas were not cooked in a separate oven.

“DEAR AIRPORT RESTAURANTS: do not get our hopes up by listing a gluten free pizza crust,” the mom of three wrote in her PSA on Instagram, noting that she and her family “walked out of our way to sit down to a nice meal before a long flight.”

“If you cook the gluten free pizza in a rolling pizza oven with every other regular pizza, it is no longer a gluten free pizza,” she declared. “Save yourself the energy of even stocking a gluten free crust.”

“Also, airports: do better for people with celiac disease,” added Dreyer, whose 8-year-old son Calvin can’t eat gluten due to having celiac disease.

Dreyer didn’t reveal in her post if she and her family ended up finding another restaurant with gluten-free options before boarding their flight, but fans in the comment section completely understood how inconvenient the situation must have been.

“Airports are the absolute worst for celiac and gluten free. We need better and more SAFE options!” one user insisted, while someone else pointed out that “So many restaurants get this wrong.”

“Just because it starts gluten-free doesn’t mean it ends gluten-free if they don’t keep it separate!,” that same user continued, adding, “We just have to keep educating (but it’s exhausting).”

Another follower called the situation “SO frustrating” to deal with, while thanking Dreyer for bringing attention to the issue.

“THANK YOU!!” someone else added. “If there were more people with your voice range, things could change for those with celiac disease.”
