Kelsea Ballerini’s song “Penthouse” chronicles her 2022 divorce from fellow country star Morgan Evans and the heartbreak that followed their split, but she doesn’t want her fans to direct any ill will towards Evans.
That became clear during a recent concert in Florida. She was in the midst of performing the song from her Rolling Up the Welcome Mat album when some fans in the crowd yelled, “f—k you Morgan!”

As seen in a TikTok video, Ballerini quickly turned down the hate directed at her ex. “You have to stop that,” she said. “Seriously.”
“We’re three years past it. Everything’s fine now,” she added. “I sing this song for you now. It’s not about me anymore. Please. Please.”
She then turned the negative into a positive by walking to the center of the stage and addressing her fans. “All right, for everyone else moving forward with their life, will you sing this with me?” she said before belting out the song’s final verse.

After she and Evans split following five years of marriage, both artists released music that seemingly addressed their breakup, with Evans issuing a single titled “Over for You,” while Ballerini put out Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.
Following the split, Ballerini started up a relationship with Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. The pair have been dating for two years.
At another recent concert, Ballerini impressed the crowd by addressing a young fan in the audience who was facing bullying at school.
The young concertgoer named Jacob caught the singer’s attention by holding up a sign that read, “I get bullied at school because I am a boy and love you,” prompting the Ballerini to offer him some kind words of encouragement, which were documented in fan-captured footage uploaded to TikTok.
“I promise you also the person that’s saying mean things, it’s coming from a place of insecurity,” the 31-year-old singer told the fan while kneeling on the edge of the stage.
