Ben Affleck Reveals He Spent 'Months and Months' Training for Movie 'Stunt'

9 March 20252 Mins Read

Ben Affleck has done his fair share of action scenes in movies, from portraying Batman in several films to robbing banks in The Town.

But the Pearl Harbor star recently revealed the “stunt” in his latest movie that had him training for “months and months.”

Affleck, who was at the premiere of The Accountant 2, said at the March 8 event in Austin, Tex. that “The challenge for me was the months and months I spent training to line dance,” reports Deadline.

He continued, joking that it “was my stunt. Tom Cruise has nothing on me, just in terms of line dancing.” Cruise famously does his own stunts in movies, including hanging off the side of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and piloting a World War II-era airplane.

Affleck said “it was wonderful” to reprise his role in the sequel to 2016’s The Accountant, which also welcomed back cast members including J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and Alison Wright.

Director Gavin O’Connor and writer Bill Dubuque also returned to the franchise. In all, 24 members of the original film’s cast and crew worked on the sequel, per IMDb.

“Timing is everything,” said O’Connor about The Accountant 2, noting that while it took years to get the sequel off the ground, “We just pressed forward.”

Bernthal, who plays Affleck’s brother in the movies, said, “I think there’s a really strong foundation in the first film. You get to see them as kids [but] they don’t really get too much time together. Now, it’s just such a such a joy to do it, to do it with Ben.”
