Minor Hotels recently announced the opening of a new luxury hotel in Portugal: Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia. Situated on the hillside of Gaia, this property promises an unparalleled blend of historic charm and modern luxury.

The Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia Hotel is housed in a refurbished 18th-century building that was once home to C.N. Kopke – one of Portugal’s oldest Port wine houses. This historic connection is reflected in the hotel’s name and aesthetics.

The hotel has 84 rooms and suites, each offering views of the Douro River and Porto cityscape. Its design balances modern comfort and classic elegance, featuring high-quality materials such as Portuguese marble and wood.

The hotel offers two exquisite dining options for gastronomy enthusiasts – Restaurante & Bar 1638 and Vinum Lounge & Terrace. The former serves traditional Portuguese cuisine with a contemporary twist, while the latter offers an extensive wine list featuring some of Portugal’s finest wines.

At The Elements Spa by Banyan Tree, guests can also enjoy a range of wellness facilities, including an outdoor pool, fitness center, sauna, steam bath, and massage services.

In addition to its luxurious offerings, Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia takes pride in its sustainability initiatives. It has implemented eco-friendly practices such as energy-efficient lighting, water-saving measures, and waste management systems.

Another key highlight is the hotel’s location. It is nestled in the heart of Gaia, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its wine cellars and stunning views. The hotel is also within walking distance of popular tourist attractions such as the Porto Cathedral and Ribeira Square.
