So many of the amazing affordable fashion finds we’ve been seeing lately are thanks to Brandon Maxwell. The personal designer to Lady Gaga and stylist to countless other A-list celebrities is a years-long partner with Walmart, bringing the latest trends and styles to the masses at accessible price points.
Maxwell’s latest collection with Walmart’s Scoop brand is getting us seriously excited for spring. The first item that caught our eye was the Linen Blend Longline Vest top — we were instantly drawn in by its sophisticated shape and high-end vibe. Even better, it could easily pass for a designer style that we spotted at Neiman Marcus that’s more than 14 times as expensive, which is the ultimate look for less steal.

Linen is not typically an affordable fabric option, but this top changes the game. When clothing is promoted as a linen-blend product, the material doesn’t typically have a ton of actual linen to show for itself. But with 55% linen, the quality of the material this top is made with is seriously impressive. With the warmer months ahead we’re focused on shopping for breathable pieces that we can layer, and this linen top is the definition of that.
Apart from the high-quality material it’s made with, this top’s cut and design helps it stand out from the pack. It has thicker straps that create a flattering square neckline, which is one of our favorite shapes to wear. The top is designed to look like a vest, with buttons that run down the front, plus its V-front hem that creates a flared peplum shape.

Shoppers say this top is “super cute and comfy” and it’s available in an impressive array of color and size options. It ranges from XS up to 4X, and there are five timeless colors to choose from. Our favorite version is the khaki style, which reminded us of a Veronica Beard version that’s far beyond our price range. Despite their differences, these two tops share a similarly tailored cut that’s the true star of the show.

We’ve been impressed with many of the styles that Brandon Maxwell has dropped with Walmart to date, but the Scoop Linen Blend Longline Vest may be one of our favorites. It’s chic, versatile, and affordable, but it’s clearly not lacking in quality. If you’re building out your spring and summer wardrobe on a budget, this top should be on your radar!
