The next Secret Lair drop for MTG promises cute dragons

19 March 20252 Mins Read

The launch of the latest expansion for Magic: The Gathering, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, is right around the corner. To commemorate the April 11 launch date, Wizards of the Coast has commissioned a Secret Lair drop celebrating the five Elder Dragonlords of Tarkir, but with an adorable twist.

The series of five reversible cards features a grown-up version of one of the five Dragonlords on one side, and a far cuter (yet no less dangerous) portrait of each Elder Dragon as a whelp on the other. My personal favorite is Dragonlord Dromoka, with their playful grin and massive green eyes. Below, we’ve provided images for all the cards included in the Secret Lair drop, along with links to Gatherer, the official MTG database, so you can read up on their stats. Intended more for collecting than actual play, each card is still legal in standard formats provided they’ve been sleeved.

The aptly titled They Grow Up So Fast drop will be available in either standard or foil, but no information on pricing or availability has been made available at the time of publication.

Secret Lair – They Grow Up So Fast

Secret Lair is Wizards of the Coast’s outlet for committed Magic: The Gathering collectors. It features ultra-rare variants of specific cards and collaborations with outside artists and intellectual properties. Previous collaborations from Secret Lair have included cards inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, Monty Python, and Baldur’s Gate, to name a few.
