I took some heat online yesterday – including from longtime friends – because I implied through the use of the adjacent image that a lot of people are acting like sheep.
First of all, I think that sheep are cute and useful animals, so it is hardly an insult.
However, they tend to follow the herd, often to their detriment, and typically fail to learn lessons from their struggles – It’s time to have the talk about the wolves and the sheep.
One friend suggested that it seemed as though I was saying that my opinions were more valid and more accurate than those of the people I was implying were not thinking critically about important issues.
Well, that is true. And I will not apologize for it. A disappointingly high percentage of people in the western world have had the wool pulled over their eyes.
Now, my relative self-righteousness is not rooted in the belief that I am smarter than any of you. Quite the contrary; I have spent a heck of a lot more time playing and thinking about sports than I have spent pondering the origin of the universe.
However, my opinions tend to be accurate because they are backed by extensive research and logical analysis conducted and produced by people much more intelligent than me – An editorial team worth celebrating.
Over the last five years, I have spent thousands of hours working with accomplished scientists, engineers, and other brilliant humans documenting facts through verifiable data, and logical interpretation, and with complete transparency.
If you believe the climate alarmists when they say that the sea is rising rapidly – particularly in some regions – and that “the seas are coming for all of us,” I understand why you might have that opinion. However, your opinion would be wrong – Portuguese comic rising even faster than global sea level .
If you believe the “top experts” when they say that most excess deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic were among people taken down by a terrible virus that, yes, originated in a Wuhan lab, you are fully entitled to that opinion. However, your opinion would be wrong – Detailed analysis of 2021 death data reveals disturbing trends .
If you believe environmental leaders who say that there is a massive garbage patch floating in the Pacific Ocean, your opinion on that subject would be wrong – Taking a critical look at the ‘Great Pacific Garbage Patch’.
Would you keep going to the same dentist if she made your teeth more crooked?
Would you continue to work with the same plumber if he was never able to stop the leaks?
Of course not.
Then why on Earth do you continue to trust media organizations, politicians, medical officials, and environmental leaders who have consistently been wrong?
Is it Stockholm syndrome? Have you grown fond of your abusers? We must help our friends escape Stockholm syndrome
Is it the manifestation of childhood trauma? Do you continually seek pain because it was imprinted on your personality at an early age?
Or are you just one of those really nice folks who always wants to give people the benefit of the doubt – Really nice people are a really big problem.
Regardless of the diagnosis, I implore you to fight the temptation to be consistently wrong about the most pressing matters.
