There’s so much to look forward to during the summer time. Warmer weather, beach trips, bottomless mimosas (just a waft of OJ for me, please), and all the delectably delicious returning bites you can get your hands on. Sure, seasonal foods in the fall are great—who doesn’t love a PSL—but spring and summer deserve their seasonal fare, too. How else are we supposed to know what time of year it is?

While most of us track time by marking off the days on the calendar, us foodies prefer to use food as the benchmark and typically keep track of the seasons by what menu items just made their return to shelves or restaurant menus. The Sumerians had the sundial; we have our limited-time releases. Same diff, obvi. Besides, our way of keeping time is infinitely more delicious.

That being said, we’ve already been inundated with a slew of sizzling hot summer returns, and we’re just now getting used to spring. The latest tantalizing re-release comes just in time for the advent of festival season, and it’s so massive it’s fit for a giant. For the sixth consecutive year, Papa Johns is bringing back its biggest, cheesiest menu item—the legendary Shaq-a-RoniPizza. Now that’s our idea of summer.
The behemoth pizza is returning to Papa Johns locations nationwide for a limited time, and much like Shaq himself, it takes things to the max. Each mega-sized pizza features extra cheese and over 60 slices of pepperoni, which is about 25-percent more than the average one-topping pizza. Beyond just being massive, the fan-favorite pie is a mega-deal at just $12.99 for the 16-inch New York-style pizza. You can even customize yours by adding extra toppings for a small additional charge.
Now that’s what we call a slam dunk. Just don’t forget the garlic sauce. You know, for dunking. Get it? Summer’s back for sure.
