Indian Hotels Company Announces 74 Signings and 26 Openings in FY2025 – Image Credit IHCL
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) announced the expansion of 100 new locations in FY2025, with 74 signings and 26 openings. This addition brings its portfolio to 380 hotels.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, highlighted the company’s achievement of a record 74 signings in the last fiscal year. Over 95% of these signings were capital light, resulting in a pipeline of 137 hotels. Venkatesh attributed this success to IHCL’s strong brand presence across market segments and sustained demand.

In line with IHCL’s strategic roadmap, Accelerate 2030, a significant portion of the signings pertained to the company’s Gateway and Ginger brands, reflecting the growing Midscale and Upscale segments in India. This year, the Ginger brand crossed a 100-hotel portfolio, while Vivanta reached over 50 hotels.
IHCL also made strides in international markets, establishing a presence in Bahrain and Ras Al Khaimah in the Middle East. This expansion contributed over 800 keys, further strengthening the company’s footprint in the region.
Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President of Hotel Openings & New Businesses at IHCL, shared that the company opened 26 new hotels in FY25. Ginger lead the way with nine hotels across various markets, including commercial centres, industrial townships, leisure destinations, and state capitals.
Rao noted that IHCL continued to pioneer new tourism destinations with SeleQtions and Gateway hotels in Diu and expanded its presence in spiritual destinations with a Taj resort in Puri. The 26 new hotel openings created over 2,500 direct jobs, contributing to local economies and livelihoods.
IHCL is set to achieve its goal of a 700-hotel portfolio under its strategy, Accelerate 2030. As of March 31, 2025, IHCL’s portfolio consists of 380 hotels, including 137 under development across the Taj, The Claridges Collection, SeleQtions, Tree of Life, Vivanta, Gateway, and Ginger brands.
