One woman got more than she bargained for after she discovered her order from an Ontario Wingstop location was seemingly covered in blood.
No one likes to open up their fast food order and find an unexpected bit of blood mixed in with their meal — especially when it’s chicken — but Ontario resident Emily Warren was particularly shocked when she opened up her order from a Wingstop location in Guelph to find that the bag and containers were covered in sticky red droplets.
Worse yet, she believes that the blood actually belonged to a human.
In a TikTok video that’s amassed over 100,ooo views and 6,500 likes since it was posted on Sunday, April 13, Emily details the “disgusting” surprise that came along with what was meant to be a delicious dinner.

“We went to the Guelph Wingstop and there’s blood all over our food,” she says in the video, turning the camera around to reveal droplets of what certainly appears to be exactly that on the plastic food container and smeared on the delivery bag.
“Now I should have known something was up when the lady that handed me our order had […] an open cut all over with blood on her hand and no band-aid covering it,” Emily goes on to explain.
“And, we open our food when we get home, and, like, she was just dripping all over the [expletive] place.”
The video quickly drew a variety of comments from viewers, ranging from grossed-out to downright concerned.
“Please tell me u got a refund,” one TikTok user comments.
“Babe don’t get a refund file a lawsuit,” another responds.
“Just did my food safety cert and while completing it i wondered to myself ‘who in their right mind would work with food with an open/non closed wound?’ BUT I GUESS ITS NOT COMMON SENSE LOL,” another comment reads.
Emily, a Kitchener resident, tells blogTO that she and her boyfriend were on their way home from Milton when they decided to stop off in Guelph and grab Wingstop for dinner. Her boyfriend had eaten at that location before, she says.
As Emily placed her order, she tells blogTO, she noticed that the person serving her had “a trail of blood running down her wrist that was coming from what looked like possibly a knife wound or some sort of laceration to her hand [or] finger.
I also observed her wiping down several orders with napkins, I assume because she was bleeding onto them, but she never took any time to address or cover the wound at any point. I made a mental note of it, and it raised some red flags to me, but I didn’t want to assume and/or overreact,” she adds.
It wasn’t until the two got home and noticed bloody fingerprints all over the bag that they really realized something was wrong, Emily says.
“As we proceeded to pull containers out with caution we were horrified and sick to see more blood on not only the outside of containers but the inside surrounding the food as well,” she tells blogTO. “I was frantically washing my hands afterwards as I am immunocompromised and have no idea what sort of pathogens I could have come into contact with.”
Immediately following the incident, Emily contacted the Wingstop location, which, she says, was “not at all helpful nor remorseful.”
Once her video began gaining some traction about a day after posting it, though, things started to turn around when Emily was contacted by the chain’s national corporate team, who, she says, “have been absolutely amazing.”
“They have been super supportive and apologetic,” Emily adds. “They are working to come up with the best resolution moving forward.”
In response to the video, Wingstop confirms to blogTO that they have since contacted Emily and are “committed to addressing the situation directly.”
“We’re aware of a poor guest experience at one of our Wingstop Canada locations and have launched a full internal investigation,” they say in an email statement made to blogTO. “As part of this, we’re reviewing our food handling protocols and team training procedures to understand exactly what happened.”
“At Wingstop Canada, food safety and guest satisfaction are top priorities, and we’re taking this matter very seriously,” they add.
As for Emily, she assures that she’s doing “perfectly okay as of now,” adding that she “was not expecting any of the attention that this whole thing has received but I am glad that I have been able to bring some awareness to this and hopefully it can encourage more vigilance with food and safety in our area!”
