- The hotel is a multi-million euro renovation of a landmark brutalist building, incorporating traditional Czech influences into its contemporary design.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has unveiled its latest property, Fairmont Golden Prague. Situated in the heart of Prague’s UNESCO World Heritage Centre Old Town, the hotel occupies a renovated brutalist building, combining the city’s historic charm with modern luxury.
The building, located at the prestigious Pařížská Boulevard on the banks of the Vltava River, has undergone a multi-million euro renovation. The project was led by chief architect Marek Tichý, who preserved the original brutalist style designed by Czech architect Karel Filsak in 1974. The renovation incorporates traditional Czech elements into a modern design, including restored blown glass chandeliers and ornate ash wood posts.
The hotel features 320 rooms, suites, and serviced residences that blend modernist aesthetics with warm tones of rich dark wood. Traditional Czech glass artistry is integrated into the interiors, creating a refined touch. Six diverse dining locations, including the rooftop Zlata Praha and Asian restaurant Golden Eye, cater to various tastes.
In addition to its hospitality offerings, Fairmont Golden Prague houses an extensive art collection, displaying pieces from the 1960s and 1970s alongside contemporary works. The hotel’s wellness center features a 1,400 sqm spa, offering tailored treatments blending traditional techniques with modern innovations.
Fairmont Golden Prague also provides the exclusive Fairmont Gold experience. This ‘hotel within a hotel’ offers exceptional privacy and access to premium amenities, including a private check-in and access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge.
The hotel also caters to events with a 600-square-meter column-free ballroom and three rooftop boardrooms, all equipped with the latest audiovisual equipment and supported by an experienced events team.
