The Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket has officially opened in Connecticut. It is the 23rd addition to the Great Wolf Lodge brand’s North American footprint. The resort is adjacent to Foxwoods Resort Casino, marking the brand’s first resort in Connecticut and the third in the Northeast region.
The 549-room resort offers a range of family adventures, including a 92,000-square-foot indoor water park and a 61,000-square-foot adventure park. Additional amenities include a collection of eateries and retail offerings, all under one roof. The resort represents the brand’s “next generation” experience, featuring a new water-coaster slide, a regional family raft adventure, a multi-level ropes course with a zipline experience, and a new virtual reality attraction.
The resort was made possible by a $300 million investment from funds affiliated with Blackstone Real Estate and Centerbridge Partners. The investment has created over 500 full—and part-time jobs at the resort. The resort is anticipated to draw more than half a million families to the region annually, contributing to the local economy.
The resort’s offerings include new elements of the “next generation” Great Wolf Lodge experience, such as innovative indoor water park attractions, a family entertainment center known as the Great Wolf Adventure Park, and an immersive storytelling experience in the Grand Lobby. Dining options range from pizza and burgers to full-service dining at Fireside and premium ice cream at Wood’s End Creamery. The resort also features 549 family-friendly suites with a contemporary design, available in various categories and styles.
The opening of the Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket represents a significant achievement in diversifying and strengthening the regional economy. The resort is expected to catalyze economic growth and job creation. The resort donated $52,000 to Make-A-Wish Connecticut as part of the grand opening celebration.
