Tim McGraw Skips 2025 ACM Awards Amid Health Struggles

8 May 20252 Mins Read

It’s a sad night for Tim McGraw fans.

The beloved country singer, 58, didn’t attend the Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, May 8.

The star-studded event, hosted by Reba McEntire, took place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

The last time McGraw attended the ACM Awards was in 2023. The “Cowboy Lullaby” artist received the ACM Icon Award that year and gave an incredibly heartfelt acceptance speech.

“I’m gonna try to get through this, but I’m a weeper,” he began. “Music can change a life, or save a life. I know it’s saved mine probably more than once … and it’s tried to kill me a couple times as well.”

McGraw went on to give his wife, Faith Hill, a beautiful shout-out. “I would not be where I am today without you and your grace,” he gushed. “I love you unconditionally.”

McGraw and Hill, 57, got married in 1996 and share three daughters, Audrey, Maggie, and Gracie.

Unfortunately, McGraw has faced some health issues in recent years. In August 2024, the Louisiana native underwent orthopedic surgery on both of his knees following an injury during his Standing Room Only Tour. As a result, McGraw had to cancel the remaining 2024 dates.

Come early 2025, the father of three also had to have back surgery.

Despite his health issues, McGraw will be performing his first concert in more than a year on May 31 at the Music City Rodeo.

“We’re rehearsing, guys, for our first show back in almost a year. May 31st, we’re going to be headlining that night,” he announced via Instagram. “It’s going to be exciting. We are ready to go. And trust me, we are ready to play.”
