What's On

May 12th to 18th, 2025

12 May 20254 Mins Read

Pictures: Sony Pictures, Netflix, Paramount

It’s going to be a hectic week on the Netflix release calendar over the next seven days. From blockbuster licensed movies, a first window movie from Sony Pictures, in addition to new documentaries, series, and movies exclusive to Netflix across the world – here’s what’s coming up on Netflix between May 12th and May 18th, 2025.

For more on what’s coming up on Netflix throughout May 2025 and even into June 2025, keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix for the latest. You can also see what will come to Netflix throughout the remainder of 2025 here.

The list below is in addition to live events this week, including WWE RAW on Monday, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney on Wednesday, and Pop the Balloon on Thursday. We’re also getting new weekly episodes of K-dramas and anime like Resident Playbook (Saturday), YAIBA: Samurai Legend (Saturday), Two Husbands One Wife (Thursday), The Devil’s Plan (Tuesday), and plenty of others.

OK, with all that said, let’s look at the week ahead and what we’re most excited for over the next seven days:

What to Watch on Netflix This Week

Love, Death & Robots (Volume 4)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

For animation fans, Love, Death and Robots is easily one of Netflix’s best series they’ve ever created. From Tim Miller, David Fincher, and Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the anthology series brings you stories from all across the globe with various animation styles, delivering thought-provoking short stories that are often incredibly beautiful. This new series features MrBeast and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Of course, one of the best things about this series is that you can open each episode completely blind and just go along for the ride. That’s our recommendation, but if you do want to see who’s going to be lending their voices and directing, and more details about all 10 episodes, we’ve got our full episode guide for Volume 4 here.

Paddington in Peru (2024)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

Paddington is back and he’s heading to Netflix! The bear known the world over is back for his third outing, and because of the first window deal Netflix holds with Sony, this will be your first time to catch the movie as part of a streaming subscription. In this entry, Paddington is returning to his home in Peru to visit his aunt.

Just a quick note, though. If you’re planning on signing up for Netflix to specifically watch Paddington in Peru, you’ll need to do so with a premium tier because all the first window movies (and most Sony movies, for that matter) are blocked on the advertising tier.

The Quilters (2025)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

One of the best things about Netflix is its deep and vast documentary library. Among that library is a growing lineup of fabulous award-winning shorts, and The Quilters falls under that remit. Per Netflix, “The Quilters follows the daily lives of several quilters inside the sewing room at South Central Correctional Center, a Level 5 maximum-security prison in a small town two hours south of St. Louis, MO. From design to completion, the men reveal their struggles, triumphs, and sense of pride in creating something beautiful in this windowless, sacred space deep within the prison walls.”
