Brand new flying ride at Niagara Falls opens this summer

13 May 20252 Mins Read

An opening date has finally been confirmed for the newest addition to Niagara Falls’ bevy of tourist attractions: a multi-sensory “flying theatre” experience that will be the first of its kind in Ontario, offering views that you can’t find anywhere else.

And, the debut is coming up in just a matter of weeks.

Recently dubbed “Niagara Takes Flight,” the experience will offer guests unparalleled views over the falls and the surrounding parkland in a way that makes it feel like you are actually flying through the air, getting up-close and personal with the raging natural wonder.

Stunning aerial drone footage will be showcased on a 17-metre-wide, 180-degree domed screen, which, combined with immersive effects and the simulated motions of dynamic gondola-style seating, will create a hyper-realistic experience of traversing overtop of and into the falls.

Riders will cover a whopping 56 kilometres on their simulated trip, floating high above and then dipping down below as they learn about the region’s rich history.

They will literally feel their feet lift off the floor, the wind blow through their hair, the mist hit their skin, and the scents of the natural park whip by as if they are actually there among it all, thanks to fully engaging special effects.

The region’s glory across all seasons will be put on display, “from the energy of a bustling summer day in Queen Victoria Park to a stunning winter evening filled with colourful holiday lights,” the theatre’s team wrote in announcing the news on Tuesday.

They add that “beyond the remarkable sights they will take in, guests will leave with a deeper appreciation and understanding of Niagara’s rich history and culture through engaging pre-show areas that authentically celebrate the stories of Niagara’s formation, the region’s first Indigenous inhabitants and its role in popular culture as a global tourism icon.”

Located in Niagara Parks’ newly renovated Table Rock Centre, which is just next to Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Takes Flight will open to the public on August 29, 2025.

It is replacing the long-running Niagara’s Fury ride, serving as a major upgrade.
