Another showmance has sadly come to an end. Tucker Des Lauriers and Rubina Bernabe, who met and fell in love while competing together on season 26 of Big Brother, have split.
The former couple announced the news to their subscribers on Instagram.
“There has been a lot going on lately and I wanted to finally address things. Rubina and I are taking a break,” Tucker wrote in his broadcast channel. “It’s very sad but deep down we both know it is what’s best for both of us at this time. I’ve loved and appreciated all the support from each and everyone of you and hope I can still have with you all moving forward. I appreciate your understanding as I navigate this privately.”
Rubina also posted her own statement: “Tucker and I are no longer together. Grateful to have met him & for the love we shared. Feeling grounded and focused on this next chapter of growth. We appreciate your support, your respect, and the space to move through this chapter privately. And a big thank you in advance for continuing to support me through every season.”
Just a few weeks prior, the fan-favorite duo attended Coachella and posted photos together on Instagram. “Day 1 of @coachella My first ever Coachella and man was it FUN. Had the best group with the best vibes and dance moves there baby. (I hope I’m doing this right 😂)” he captioned one photo of them kissing.

Rubina couldn’t help but gush over her new beau during her Big Brother exit interview in October 2024.
“When I first met Tucker in the house, I thought, ‘How am I going to deal with this type of person?” Because I’m gonna be honest, I thought he was gonna annoy me,” she said at the time. “But as I grew to know him inside the house, outside of just being a game player, he had so many endearing qualities, it was hard not to fall for this guy. As much as I didn’t want to, as much as I said, ‘I’m not having showmance. Couldn’t be me. He made it nearly impossible to resist him.'”
The L.A. native continued, “Us being outward and finally explicit about our relationship was not a surprise to the other players. I think they felt honestly relieved that we finally were out about it, because we tried really hard not to make it a thing. though everyone was fully aware, I am pretty sure. So it was, I think, as much as the relief to them as it was for us to finally share it.”
As for Tucker, he told Parade around the same time after the finale, “I just felt like I already won, as cheesy as it is. But I mean, Rubina is the sweetest, nicest person I’ve ever met.”
