Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel announced the appointment of Rudi Heider as hotel General Manager. Rudi brings a dynamic blend of leadership, global perspective, and hospitality excellence to one of Canada’s most celebrated airport hotels.

Born and raised in Germany, Rudi began his hospitality journey as a server at the Four Seasons in Berlin, where the energy, teamwork, and meaningful connections in the industry drove him. A seasoned hotelier, Rudi has successfully led teams across international borders, earning regional and global recognition. As Director of Operations at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, he continued to elevate guest experiences and operational excellence at one of Canada’s most renowned resorts.

His leadership style, shaped by mentors who modeled humility, consistency, and a deep sense of purpose, empowers teams to work in perfect harmony, much like a well-conducted symphony.

“Creating memorable, even life-changing, guest experiences have always been my greatest motivation,” says Rudi Heider, General Manager. “Every day in hospitality offers something new, and I’m excited to lead a team that makes the impossible feel effortless”.

Rudi brings his experience and passion for hospitality to Fairmont Vancouver Airport, which is consistently ranked among the world’s top airport hotels. Now in Vancouver, Rudi and his Canadian wife have settled on the West Coast for its natural beauty, lifestyle, and exceptional quality of life. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, tennis, cooking, and long walks in Pacific Spirit Park with his wife and their dog, Spätzle.
