Casillero del Diablo Selección Red Semi-Sweet, Chile

20 May 20252 Mins Read

Selección Red | May 20, 2025

Rooted in a mysterious 19th-century tale about the “Devil’s Cellar,” Casillero del Diablo is a legend more than 140 years in the making. In the 1880s, Don Melchor de Concha y Toro was revered for crafting some of Chile’s finest wines.

Their collection includes a Cabernet Sauvignon sourced primarily from Maipo Valley; a Carmenère consistently acclaimed by wine critics; a bright, coastal Sauvignon Blanc; and a crisp rosé.

Casillero del Diablo is one of the most trusted wine brands among Mexicans and boasts 95% brand awareness in Mexico. Partnering with the soccer Mexican National Teams allows the winery to celebrate this connection through a shared passion for heritage and excellence.

In a union as legendary as the game itself, Casillero del Diablo and the Mexican National Teams have come together to ignite passion and celebrate the spirit of soccer.

The Dawn of the Legend

About the wine

Varietal: Red blend 71% Carmenère, 24% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

The special limited edition Selección Red is a tribute to the vibrant culture, pride, and spirit of the soccer Mexican National Teams and their supporters. From the label design to the wine inside, every element was crafted to reflect the energy and unity that fans bring to the game.

This semi-sweet wine has dark and deep purple color. Your nose will be hit by aromas of ripe fruit, densely packed with plum and blackberry, with a soft touch of bitter chocolate. Your palate will sense notes of dark plums, with round tannins, velvety and smooth texture. It is a well balanced and mouth filling wine.

• Food pairing: Different kinds of grilled meat. Lamb stews with herbs and other preparations based on this meat or game meat.

> For more information, visit Casillero del Diablo official website.

Culturally Inspired Design: Wrapped in bold red, green, black, and white—colors that mirror the Mexican flag—the Selección Red bottle showcases iconic Mexican and Aztec motifs, including folk-art patterns and symbolic references to the eagle and snake, two of the most enduring symbols of Mexican identity. It’s a vivid tribute to heritage, pride, and nostalgia, thoughtfully created to connect with fans of the Mexican National Team. A bottle to keep as the designed is painted directly on the bottle!
