Get ready for an action-packed weekend complete with an outdoor cello concert, an art party in honour of Asian Heritage Month, this year’s Spot Prawn Fest, and much more. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend, May 23 to 25.

The Vancouver Art Gallery has a multitude of events and workshops to celebrate Asian Heritage Month, which includes an unforgettable Art Party this weekend. Complete with immersive art experiences, live entertainment by Theatre Replacement, Wei Chang, and DJ Ephemeral Objects, as well as hands-on activities and artist-led talks, there will be plenty to explore here. Partygoers will also be mong the first to experience the Gallery’s highly anticipated summer exhibitions, including Otani Workshop: Monsters in My Head and Written in Clay: From the John David Lawrence Collection.

From noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Shipyards Brewery District is transforming for a Tiki Party and crawl, where participating breweries will be offering tiki-inspired drinks, expanded patios, and summer tunes to kickstart patio season.

Bringing together over 50 B.C. and international plant vendors and growers, the Secret Plant Show is an event for green thumbs of all kinds. Those who drop by will find a mix of common and exotic plants for sale, including Amazonian plants, sought-after anthuriums, spider plants, botanicals, succulents, and much more.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the Chefs’ Table Society of B.C. is celebrating this year’s Spot Prawn season with its annual Spot Prawn Fest at False Creek Fisherman’s Wharf, which is completely free to attend. Those who want to enjoy a cup of creamy prawn bisque prepared by Organic Ocean can grab one for $10, or you can opt to indulge in a $79 spot prawn brunch.

Styled & Shared is a curated clothing swap and social hosted by Natural Effects and Náda Soul, and hundreds of secondhand pieces await at this weekend’s swap. Admission gets you access to unlimited finds, new clothing drops every hour, a live DJ performance, light snacks and refreshments, and info on upcoming wellness and community pop-ups. So come ready to mingle, and note there is no need to bring any clothes!

VanDusen’s live outdoor cello concert is back for another year, allowing garden visitors to roam among beautiful spring blooms while enjoying an all-cello ensemble from Yale University, who will play reimagined songs from The Beatles, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse, and more.

The new women’s soccer club, Vancouver Rise FC, is bringing their next high-energy match against the Calgary Wild FC on Saturday, May 24 at Burnaby’s Swanguard Stadium.

Directed by Andrew Kushnir, the story of Casey and Diana by Nick Green is on its last leg at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage. Based on true events, the powerful drama is set in 1991 during the peak of the AIDS crisis, when Diana, princess of Wales, makes a historic visit to Casey House, Canada’s first freestanding AIDS hospice.
