Big community festivals to quirky comedy, live music, artisan markets, and even a little outdoor yoga to reset your soul—this weekend’s got layers. Whether you’re staying in the city or up for a road trip to nearby spots, there’s no shortage of things to do in Edmonton this weekend. Here’s what’s popping.

Beaumont’s biggest bash is back and bringing the whole town out. Expect a full weekend of midway rides, live entertainment, a parade, fireworks, and even a pancake breakfast to soak it all in. It’s classic small-town fun with a big community feel.

When: Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25; (See schedule above)
Where: Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre – 5001 Rue Eaglemont
Cost: $1 to $50

St. Albert’s legendary Rainmaker Festival returns for its 60th year—yes, six decades of rodeo, rock, and revelry. There’s a midway, live music (The Rural Alberta Advantage is headlining), pig races, parades, and more fried food than you can imagine.

When: Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25; (See schedule above)
Where: 47 Riel Dr., St. Albert
Cost: $7.62 to $66.67

This Tony-winning musical is witty, wicked, and wonderfully over-the-top. Follow a charming antihero as he eliminates eight heirs standing between him and a family fortune — musical numbers and mayhem included. If you’re into clever comedy with a dark twist, this is your ticket.

When: Friday, May 23 to Sunday, June 1; (See timings above)
Where: Orange Hub Performance Theatre — 10045 156th St. NW
Cost: $51 to $77

Ever wanted to watch live Dungeons & Dragons — but make it funny? yegDND is part improv, part nerdy theatre, and fully ridiculous in the best way. Every show is made up on the spot, and the audience gets to roll the dice. Impressive, eh?

When: Saturday, May 24; 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Where: Grindstone Theatre — 10019 81st Ave. NW
Cost: $12 to $15

Indie-folk fans, your weekend soundtrack awaits. Aussie singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts is bringing his mellow vibes and beachy acoustic tunes to Midway this Saturday. It’s gonna be chill, heartfelt, and full of good energy.

This is the best thing to do in Edmonton for anyone looking to wind down for the weekend — a blissed-out yoga session under the sky. This all-levels outdoor class at sunset is a great way to care for your body AND your soul. Don’t forget your mat and water.

When: Sunday, May 25; 8:30 p.m.
