A free street festival is bringing Canada Day fireworks to Metro Vancouver

23 May 20252 Mins Read

It’s hard to believe we only have one month left of spring, but with summer rapidly approaching, Vancouver is about to transform into a land of food trucks, street festivals, and block parties. The fourth annual StreetFest is set to bring a full day of Canada Day fun to Burnaby’s Central Park, complete with live music, games, food, and a grand fireworks finale.

This year, the free-to-attend festival will be headlined by MAGIC!, the two-time Juno-winning reggae fusion band that made their mark in pop culture history with hits like “Rude.”

“StreetFest on Central has grown into one of the best Canada Day festivals in the region – a celebration of the culture, music, food and community that makes Burnaby such a unique place to live,” says Mayor Mike Hurley. “This year’s festival will feature something for everyone, with awesome activities for kids and fantastic musical acts slated for our mainstage.”

Also taking the main stage will be Surrey-based artist Asad Khan + Friends, who blends his Pakistani heritage with contemporary influences to create a sound of his own.

The fun kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on July 1, 2025, including food trucks, family-friendly games, live performances, and fireworks, which will commence at 10:15 p.m.

Note that closures along Patterson Ave., Central Blvd., and Beresford St. will be in effect for the duration of the festival.

Looking for even more Canada Day fun? There will be plenty to get up to at Burnaby Village Museum, Edmonds Park, and Edmonds Plaza for the whole family to enjoy.

So, mark your calendars and stay tuned for more summer festivities to come.

When: July 1, 2025
Where: Burnaby
Cost: Free admission
