There’s an Ontario beach resort that feels like a tropical escape

23 May 20252 Mins Read

Located less than two hours from Toronto is a slice of paradise and a hidden gem that I can no longer keep to myself. Long Beach Resort is nestled along the warm waters of Lake Erie, boasting 22 cottages and over 15 suites. It’s perfect for families, couples, girls’ trips, you name it.

Long Beach Resort’s Instagram bio puts it perfectly: “Warm waters, Lake Erie’s embrace, Long Beach Resort is your peaceful place! Home away from home, where sun-kissed memories roam.”

Cottages sleeping up to six people start at a pretty reasonable $290 per night, including two bedrooms and the convenience of being just steps from Lake Erie.

Rates for cottages go up to $900 per night, depending on how much room you need. The more expensive cottages have up to four rooms and can sleep up to 10 people.

Suites can sleep up to 11 people and range in the number of bedrooms as well.

A whole row of firepits with adequate seating is lined outside of the cottages and along the sandy shores, a perfect place to end your day.

Guests can also utilize the volleyball nets or rent watercraft such as jet skis on-site.

One of the best parts of this resort is Joy by the Beach, a cafe and gelato spot featuring scoops from one of my favourite places – Death in Venice Gelato. If you live in Toronto, you may have tried it before, but if you haven’t, you must try it while staying here.

Some of the wild and delicious flavours include:

  • Bourbon Smoke Chocolate
  • Vanilla Bean Honey
  • Pistachio
  • Boozy Tiramisu
  • Coconut Mango Lime Leaf
  • Nutella
  • Cheeseboard
    Smoked Pecan Maple Butter Tart
  • Vegan Raspberry Ginger Lime
  • Vegan Chocolate Coconut Vanilla
  • Vegan Strawberry Basil Sorbet
  • Vegan Blueberry Lavender Lemonade

In-province travel is where it’s at this summer, Ontario.
