Look in the sky, Toronto! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s… a drag queen?!
Back for its second fabulous year, Toronto’s highest drag show Drag & Haute Cuisine is soaring to the CN Tower’s 360 Restaurant on June 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“We’re so excited to be back,” says returning queen, Miss Fiercalicious, star of Canada’s Drag Race season three and The Traitors: Canada season one. “I had so much fun at the first show, and it was amazing making herstory as the first drag event at the CN Tower as well as the highest drag event in Toronto!”
Featuring a host of Toronto drag legends, you can expect fierce looks and fierce energy to kick off Pride month — all 351 metres above the ground.
To give us a bird’s-eye view of this year’s event, we chatted with Miss Fiercalicious about what it means to come back for a second year.
Haute couture meets haute cuisine
Hosted by local drag icon Erin Brockobić, this year’s event sees new additions Star Doll, Paris Matik plus the return of Dahlia Doll, and Miss Fiercalicious — who became the first ever queens to do the EdgeWalk in full drag!
“I was terrified at first, but I tried to channel my inner Elphaba from Wicked and defy gravity,” says Miss Fiercalicious about her experience on the EdgeWalk. “I had a blast and I would absolutely do it again!”
And the queens won’t be the only ones serving. The 360 Restaurant will be dishing out an exclusive three-course meal including Duck Walk Spring Rolls, Sissy That Steak Frites, and Rainbow Realness Cake.
Get in on the fun and enjoy these delicious dishes for just $90 a ticket. Seating for the event begins at 11:30 a.m., and performances will start around 12:30 p.m.
Adjustments and substitutions can be made to the menu with items from the regular prix fixe menu, and if you’re feeling extra, select items from the à la carte menu will also be available.
Taking Pride in Toronto to new heights
This celebration of food, fun, and fabulous drag is all about creating an inclusive space for everyone and all ages are welcome.
Guests are encouraged to dress anywhere from smart casual to formal — but most importantly, come as your authentic self! Your ticket also includes access to the CN Tower’s Main and Lower Observation Levels — which is the perfect opportunity to snap a gag-worthy pic while you’re up in the clouds.
“I think it’s more important now than ever to be visible and stand loud and proud together, and what better place to do it than Toronto’s most prominent landmark? We are living in an era where LGBTQ+ rights are under threat, and being visible is a form of resistance.”
Tickets for Drag & Haute Cuisine are now available, so snatch yours now before they’re gone.
See you there, divas!
