These are the best spots to watch beautiful Toronto sunsets this summer

26 May 20253 Mins Read

Summertime in Toronto is arguably the city’s best season, and that means it’s time to set out and catch a beautiful sunset. From parks to beaches and everything in between, here are a few spots to catch those Toronto sunsets.

Riverdale Park East

Riverdale Park East is one of the most famed spots in Toronto to catch the setting sun, with the city skyline as a picturesque background. Thanks to the park’s sweeping hillside, you’ll find citygoers up and down the hill for the best angle possible.

There’s nothing like watching the cityscape in front of you turn bright pink and orange as the day comes to an end, and the Toronto Islands is the best place for it. It’s truly a special feeling watching the sun set over the entire city, and that’s even more scenic if you time it with your ferry ride back home! The west shore of Hanlan’s Point is one of the best spots on the Islands to catch the sunset.

Polson Pier

Trek out to Poison Pier for a killer vantage point of the city as the sun sets behind the skyscrapers. Don’t just take our word for it; Polson Pier’s Tripadvisor is ripe with remarks commenting on its picture-perfect sunsetting location.

This almost 13-acre park is your best bet to catch a beautiful sunset in Corso Italia, whether you’re walking the trail or sitting in the field.

The Bluffs offer a ton of prime spots to watch the sun set against the lake, with 15 kilometres of waterfront lookouts. Whether on the beach at Bluffers Park or in the fully-accessible park of Rosetta McClain Gardens, a known spot for Toronto wedding photos set against the bluffs and water.

City Skyline and Sunset Viewpoint

The Google rating for 2 Stadium Road, aka the City Skyline and Sunset Viewpoint, sits at a solid 4.6 stars, making this hidden gem a sunset star. Located near the Alexandra Yacht Club, no matter where you are on the trail, there are beautiful scenes of the city skyline, Billy Bishop Airport, and the lake.

Nestled on the city’s inner harbour, take a visit to the Toronto Music Garden to see the sunset against the boats on the lake. Take a seat on one of the park benches or wander the trail.

Happy sunset viewing, Toronto.
