Picture: The Summer Hikaru Died, Sakamoto Days, Dan Da Dan, and One Piece are coming

There are some excellent new weekly anime coming to Netflix in July, including the second seasons of Dan Da Dan and Sakamoto Days. We’ll also see the inclusion of The Summer Hikaru Died and Melody and Kuroumi, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the beloved mascots. Here’s all the anime coming to Netflix in July 2025.

New Anime on Netflix in July 2025

The Summer Hikaru Died (Season 1) N

Episodes: TBA
Genre: Horror, Supernatural | Runtime: 25 Minutes
Cast: Shuuchirou Umeda, Chiaki Kobayashi, Yumiri Hanamori, Wakana Kowaka, Chikahiro Kobayashi 
Netflix Release Date: July 5th, 2025*

We’re still waiting for an official confirmation of the anime’s release date, which means the listed July 5th release date is subject to change. However, we’re incredibly excited for the adaptation of Mokumokuren’s manga. 

Two best friends living in a rural Japanese village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. Growing up together, they were inseparable… until the day Hikaru came back from the mountains and was no longer himself. “Something” has taken over Hikaru’s body, memories, feelings… and everything they know begins to unravel.


My Melody & Kuroumi (Season 1) N

Genre: Fantasy | Runtime: TBA

Netflix Release Date: July 24th, 2025

The stop motion series is part of the incredible celebration of the character’s 50th anniversary. 

Melody, a straightforward and cheerful girl, cares deeply about her little brother and enjoys baking cookies with her mother. Meanwhile, Kuromi, Melody’s self-proclaimed rival, presents as a little troublemaker but hides her cute and girlish nature.


New Weekly Anime on Netflix in July 2025

Dan Da Dan (Season 2) N 

Episodes: TBA (Weekly)
Genre: Shonen | Runtime: TBA
Cast: Shion Wakayama, Natsuki Hanae, Ayane Sakura, Nana Mizuki, Kaito Ishikawa
Netflix Release Date: July 3rd, 2025

Fans are incredibly excited for more Dan Da Dan, which will continue with the “Evil Eye Arc.” It’s unclear how long the second season will run, but it’s likely that it will be another 12 episodes.

The series is centered on two high school students, Momo and Okarun. Momo, who believes in ghosts, and Okarun, who believes in aliens, each denies the existence of the other, that is until one fateful night on a dare when Okarun has a run-in with a malicious spirit and Momo with over-inquisitive aliens, the pair find themselves stepping into the world of the paranormal and supernatural. 


Sakamoto Days (Season 2) 

Episodes: TBA (Weekly)
Genre: Shonen | Runtime: 24 Minutes
Cast: Tomoksazu Sugita, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Ayane Sakura, Natsuki, Hanae, Saori Hayami
Netflix Release Date: July 3rd, 2025

The world’s deadliest and beloved father, Taro Sakamoto, returns for part 2 of Sakamoto Days! Fans can once again look forward to more weekly episodes of the anime.

The series is centered on Taro Sakamoto, the world’s former deadliest assassin, who quit out of the blue to settle down in the name of love. But when his patch catches up with him, Sakamoto must fight to protect his family and his beloved convenience store. 


One Piece: Egghead Island Arc (Part 2)

Episodes: TBA (weekly)
Genre: Shonen | Runtime: 23 Minutes
Cast: Mayumi Tanaka, Akemi Okamura, Kazuya Nakai, Kappei Yamaguchi, Hiroaki Hirata
New Episodes: Saturdays

The exciting Egghead Island arc continues, as Luffy comes face to face with an old enemy, the Navy Admiral Kizaru! As the Navy encircles Egghead, Luffy and the Strawhat Pirates must find a way to escape the island, with Dr. Vegapunk, his clones, and Jewelrey Bonney.
