Grand Mercure has opened a new hotel in Batam Centre, marking the brand’s debut in this Indonesian city.

Grand Mercure, part of the Accor group, has officially opened a new facility in Batam Centre, Indonesia. This development introduces the Grand Mercure brand to Batam, a key location close to international transport links and commercial facilities.

The hotel is just five minutes from the Batam Centre International Ferry Terminal and provides easy access to Singapore and Malaysia. It is also conveniently situated near One Batam Mall, enhancing its appeal to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel features 230 rooms and suites designed to reflect the island’s coastal landscape.

The interior design of Grand Mercure Batam Centre incorporates elements inspired by local cultural motifs, including the Batik Gonggong pattern, emblematic of the Riau Islands’ artistic heritage. This design is prominently featured in the hotel staff uniforms, aligning with the brand’s focus on cultural immersion.

The hotel offers a variety of dining options. Ambrosia, the all-day dining restaurant, specializes in local cuisine, featuring dishes such as Mie Tarempa and Luti Gendang. Additionally, Celeste Café and Lounge provides a casual setting for light meals and refreshments by the pool. The property also includes a range of leisure facilities, including a large swimming pool, a children’s club, a spa, and a fitness center.

Grand Mercure Batam Centre features several spaces for events and meetings, including the Rarantira Grand Ballroom. This venue can accommodate up to 1,200 guests and features a pillarless design with high ceilings, making it suitable for large gatherings and corporate events. The hotel also offers additional meeting rooms with modern technological support and natural lighting, ideal for smaller conferences and social events.
