Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood is getting a rebrand and they want your help

30 May 20253 Mins Read

Spring has sprung, and while we’re busy updating our wardrobes for the sunny season, Inglewood in Calgary will be gearing up for a major makeover — but it’ll be so much more than a coat of paint.

While there’s nothing wrong with what they’ve been working with, the city’s oldest neighbourhood will be getting a rebrand, and they want your help.

The glow up

From a brand-new logo to a fresh colour palette, Inglewood will be making some changes in the name of growth, but traditionalists shouldn’t fret.

These updates will not be made without input from the community, and will celebrate residents past and present.

Starting May 30, those who want to have their voices heard will have the opportunity to speak up.

Once the survey goes live, the public will be able to share their opinions, hopes and dreams for the neighbourhood’s representation, which will ultimately influence the passionate team behind its big glow up.

“We hope the community trusts that we will build something that reflects both the truth and potential of Inglewood”, they wrote on their social media.

“It will be created through the strength of local voices”.

So what’s so special about Inglewood?

Not sure why this is such a big deal?

Inglewood is basically Calgary’s beating heart.

Tucked into the south-eastern corner of downtown, this bustling destination is where 10,000 people of the Blackfoot Nation once lived and gathered and where the North-West Mounted Police set up an important fort in 1875.

Here, not only is there a ton to do and see, but the rivers meet, and history is at the forefront.

In addition to shops, restaurants, murals, and galleries, the neighbourhood is also home to the Confluence, a historical site that exists as a reminder of the area’s past.

It’s an incredible place, Calgary, so don’t be afraid to speak up.

What would you like to see as part of their new look?

Its future branding is in your hands, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with.

These are exciting times!
