A big summer festival is coming to Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood and it’s free to attend

4 June 20253 Mins Read

Another harsh winter has come and gone, and the hottest season of the year is on our heels. With it? A calendar of wonderful things to do that includes exciting events like Inglewood Sunfest, a Calgary favourite.

A can’t-miss event held in the inner city, this one-of-a-kind experience showcases performers, local businesses, and street eats year after year.

What to expect

As Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood and one of its most colourful areas, Inglewood is the ultimate backdrop for such a vibrant event.

Here, fun-seekers are encouraged to drop by, listen to live music and shop the many vendors who have opened booths along 9th Avenue, but that’s not all.

Described as a “stylish summer festival,” Sunfest will also feature artists, dancers, and a beer garden.

From ciders to craft beers, there will be no better place to enjoy a cold one on July 26.

The very best part of all of this? While they offer so much, they ask for so little.

Sunfest is totally free to attend. All it will cost you is a little energy and some time. This year, that time can fall anywhere in between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., but we’d recommend going earlier in the day.

Please remember to wear comfortable shoes, bring some good company, and breathe deeply. Summer will be over before you know it, so don’t want to waste a minute of it.

Want to get closer to the action?

If, of course, you’d like to get even more involved, you can also volunteer.

Whether you help out at one of the booths or work closer with the performers, volunteering is a great way to give back to the community — and get some perks.

This year, those who sign up will receive a Sunfest T-shirt, snacks, and free food vouchers to enjoy during the day.

No matter what you choose to do, you’ll likely have a fantastic time.

Either way, we’ll see you out there! We can’t wait for this one.

When: Saturday, July 26, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Inglewood — 9th Ave. SE, Calgary
Admission: Free
